Gymnastics All-StatesMeghan Soltys06:00 PM EDT on Thursday, April 17, 2008 Missing her sophomore year because of back issues, Soltys made a triumphant return this season, capturing gold medals in three events, as well as the all-around, and helping the Rams secure their sixth consecutive Division I state championship. She began the meet by earning a 9.65 on vault with her roundoff pike Tsukahara. Sticking her back handspring, back tuck combination and then landing a solid round-off, full-twist dismount, Soltys earned her second gold medal on the beam with a score of 9.6, then closed the meet with a winning score of 9.75 on floor exercise for an all-around score of 37.550. Soltys capped her season by placing fifth in the all-around at the New England Championships, helping La Salle to a runner-up finish there.
