Lacrosse All-StatesMadison Brown06:00 PM EDT on Monday, June 23, 2008 Bay View has advanced to the Division II state finals in each of the program's first two years, and Maddie Brown is one of the major reasons why, says coach Joe Kettelle. The Bengals' leading scorer both of those years, despite usually being double- and triple-teamed, the sophomore was the top point-getter in Division II this spring, racking up 51 goals and 20 assists at attack wing. The highlight of her season came in an 18-11 win over South Kingstown when she tallied a career-high 12 goals. "She's a fast, explosive athlete with a great stick," Kettelle says. "Her greatest asset is her drive to be better. She's a remarkably hardworking kid and would play lacrosse year-round if she could."
