Lacrosse All-StatesCarol Records06:00 PM EDT on Monday, June 23, 2008 Despite earning a first-team All-State selection last spring as a sophomore, the defender didn't sit back on her laurels, says Skippers coach Keith Higgins. She instead continued to develop and fine-tune her game, and this year turned in yet another season worthy of All-State recognition. Her solid play in the defensive end helped North Kingstown finish tied for second with Moses Brown during the regular season and advance to the semifinals of the Division I tournament, where the Skippers fell to the eventual state champion Quakers. "She dominates her position and is fearless, always wanting to play against the best," Higgins said of Records, who this spring was selected by her peers to be a captain on a team with 10 seniors. "There are no tell-tale statistics for her position - although she did score three goals for us - aside of playing time. Her conditioning and on-field awareness allows her to seldom, if at all, come off of the field." |
