Softball All-StatesMegan Lamoureux06:00 PM EDT on Saturday, June 21, 2008 One of the most talented players ever to wear a Novans uniform, Lamoureux had an impact on the Woonsocket program from the moment she stepped on the field as a freshman, says coach Dan Belisle. Playing second base, shortstop, catcher and outfield during her career – and all of the last three positions at different times in her final season, her glove was as steady as they come. Although she battled a shoulder injury all season and didn’t quite match her .563 hitting performance of the previous year, Lamoureux still was Woonsocket's offensive spark this spring, hitting .375 with 15 runs scored and 9 RBI. She also displayed great patience at the plate, drawing 10 walks. “As far as leadership and her knowledge of the game,” Belisle said of his two-time captain, “it was like having a coach on the field. She’s top-notch.” More About Megan Favorite moment of the past school year: Graduating What I plan on doing this summer: Playing softball for my college exposure team, R.I.
