Softball All-StatesJordan Tingley06:00 PM EDT on Saturday, June 21, 2008 Tingley says her goal this season was to become one of the top pitchers in the state. Mission accomplished. The junior makes her first appearance on the All-State team after hurling La Salle to a share of its first division title and then the Rams’ first ever Division I State Championship. Boasting a 0.66 E.R.A., Tingley posted nine shutouts during the regular season, recording 121 strikeouts in 96 innings. She then struck out 45 batters in four games during La Salle’s playoff run, fanning 13 in the Rams’ 2-1, 10-inning win over Bay View in the title game. Tingley also contributed at the plate, hitting .250 during the regular season and then .300 in the postseason, delivering the game-winning hit in the ninth against Bay View in the winners’ bracket final More About Jordan Favorite moment of the past school year: The last day of English class -- we danced! And of course winning the championship What I plan on doing this summer: Going to the beach, playing softball and buying a car. McCain or Obama? I was a Hillary fan. The song I love to listen to right now: "The Day I Tried to Live" by Soundgarden Something I'd like to learn to do: Play guitar Something people would be surprised to know about me: In fourth grade I made a pact with my best friend that we would never become strippers ... so far it hasn't been broken. |
