One of the top freestyle swimmers in the state, she won the 500-yard title at the state meet and finished third in the 200-yard freestyle. Her 5:17.31 performance in the 500-yard freestyle was two seconds better than her closest competition. At the New England Interscholastic meet, she won both the 200- and 500-yard freestyle titles. She captured the 500-yard crown by more than five seconds and set a meet record in the process.
