A National Junior breaststroke champion, Sogar not only won two individual Rhode Island high school titles for the third straight year, she set state high school and URI pool records en route to the crowns. At the Interscholastic League state meet, she captured the 200-yard individual medley title with a time of 2:03.63. The winning time was .06 of a second better than the state high school record Elizabeth Beisel set last year, and also bettered the 16-year-old URI pool record of 2:04.25. Later in the day, she successfully defended her title in the 100-yard breaststroke as she broke her own state record with a time of 1:01.46. She set a meet record in the 100-yard breaststroke at the New England Interscholastic meet.
