A doubles player last season, DeMesquita this year moved up to the No. 4 slot in the South Kingstown singles lineup and delivered several key victories in the Rebels' drive to the state title. In addition to helping South Kingstown capture the team title, he delivered one of the top performances in the state singles tournament as he reached the quarterfinal round with a victory over the Division I second-seeded player.
