From seventh to second to first. Murchison finished her climb to the top of the discus ranks this season, claiming the gold in that event at the Outdoor State Championships with a toss of 117 feet, 10 inches. She also won the discus at the Class A Championships and took first in both the discus and the javelin at the Central Divisional Championships.
