Track & Field All-StatesHope 4x100 Relay Team03:30 PM EDT on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 This quartet, which won the 4x200-meter relay indoors, formed a record-setting combination at the Outdoor State Championships, where DaCruz, Marrow, Cheatham and Quiah posted a winning time of 47.90 seconds. That bettered the old state mark of 48.68 that was also set by a Hope relay. The Blue Wave runners then placed sixth at the New England Championships with a time of 49.57. At the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, N.C., Marrow, Cheatham and Quiah teamed up with Mariah Sherrill to finish 13th in the Open 4x200 in an all-time state record time of 1:42.95. Favorite achievement of the past school year: Graduating high school What I'll be doing this summer: Running track for the Providence Cobras My plans for next year: Attend Essex County College, where I will run track More About Royal Another high school athlete I admire: Jasmine Marrow, because she is a good runner and athlete and a very respectful friend My favorite pro sports team: Boston Celtics, because they are a very good team Favorite achievement of the past school year: Running and being successful in school What I'll be doing this summer: Working and staying active. I am still going to be running track for the summer. My plans for next year: Continue running and do well in school. More About Angie Another high school athlete I admire: Jasmine Marrow, because I look up to her. She makes me stay focused on track. My favorite sports team: The United States track and field team Favorite achievement of the past school year: I moved on to the 12th grade, I made All-State and gained a better relationship with my teammates. What I'll be doing this summer: Doing a lot of running and lifting to get ready for next year. I will also be working. My plans for next year: Do the best I can in track and field. I want to do great in school and be a better team member to my teammates. |
