The leading high jumper entering the state championships cleared 6 feet, 4 inches and won by two inches. “He’s a hard worker. He does everything I say and extra,” coach Andrew Martucci said. “He had a tough indoor states when he jumped 6-2 and finished fourth, and that fueled him to train even harder for the outdoor states. He has a lot of pride and wants to excel in everything. He’s our captain and a great kid, and I’m sad to see him go.”
