Track & Field All-StatesWesley DeChristofaro03:30 PM EDT on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 Third-seeded Wesley DeChristofaro saved his best jump for the state championship, leaping 21 feet, 5 inches for the title, three inches ahead of the runner-up. He also finished fourth in the triple jump. “He’s one of the premier jumpers in the state,” said coach George Briggs. “He is a very gifted athlete and a top student. I look forward to having him next year. Also I need to learn how to shot put. My plans for next year: I want to break the school records in the long jump, triple jump, high jump, 300m IH and the pentathlon. I also want to go to the Nike Indoor Nationals in Boston. |
