Track & Field All-StatesLauren Cardarelli (300-meter dash)06:00 PM EDT on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 After earning a number of All-State selections in her high school career as a member of La Salle's successful relay teams, Cardarelli makes her first appearance on the All-State first team as an individual state champion following her victory in the 300 meters at the Indoor State Championships with a time of 41.59 seconds. The senior also lent her speed to the state champion Rams' winning 4x400-meter relay and their state runner-up 4x200 relay teams. A couple of weeks later, she was fourth in the 300 (40.25) and ran the anchor leg for La Salle's state-record-setting 4x200 (1:44.51) and 4x400 (3:59.01) relay teams at the New England Championships. She then ran her anchor leg in 57.4, in helping the Rams establish a new state record in the 4x400 at the National Scholastic Championships.
