After capturing the state high jump title as a freshman with a leap of 5 feet 2 inches, Terwilliger had to settle for second place each of the next two seasons. She returned to the winner's circle in her final season, however, this time clearing 5-4 en route to the gold at the Indoor State Championships. Terwilliger, who went on to place second at the New England Championships with a jump of 5-5, earlier in the season tied the state record of 5-6, also held by Laura Berman of North Kingstown and South Kingstown's Katie Rowinski, at the Yale Invitational, where she placed second. She finished tied for eighth (5-5) at the National Scholastic Championships.
