The 4x800-meter relay was contested for the first time at this year's Indoor State Championships, and Westerly gets to lay claim to the first gold medal in that event. After contributing to the Bulldogs' winning 4x400- and 4x800-meter relays at the Outdoor State Championships last spring, Dinwoodie, Doucette, Lima and Sylvia formed a winning combination in the 4x800 at the indoor state meet, clocking a time of 9:44.81. The quartet went on to place third in that event at the New England Championships with a time of 9:28.90. Doucette, Lima and Sylvia also teamed up with Jill Levcowich to place second to La Salle in the 4x400 relay.
