Track & Field All-StatesEryn Wheeler (600-meter run)06:00 PM EDT on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 Wheeler established herself as the top 600-meter runner not only in the state, but in all of New England this winter. The Coventry junior started off by winning the gold at the Rhode Island Interscholastic Indoor State Championships in a time of 1:35.49 that broke a 12-year-old meet record of 1:36.92 set in 1996 by Pilgrim's Nicole Tremblay. Wheeler then clocked a time of 1:33.79 en route to winning that event at the New England Championships. Earlier in the season, she won the 600 at both the Hird Division (1:43.60) and Large Schools (1:38.20) Championships. She concluded her indoor season with a 14th-place finish in the 800 (2:14.90) at the National Scholastic Championships.
