Track & Field All-StatesKevin Alexander (55 High Hurdles)06:00 PM EDT on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 Alexander was untouchable against Rhode Island competition in the high hurdles. He exploded onto the scene at the Southern Division Championships, finishing nearly a full second ahead of his closest competitor to win the 45-meter hurdles in 6.60 seconds. He also placed third at the event in the 45-meter dash. Alexander took home the gold medal in the 45-meter hurdles at the Class A Championships in 6.60 before winning the 55-meter hurdles at the state meet in a record time of 7.77, beating Ryan Gauvin's (Cumberland, 2002) mark of 7.85. Alexander also helped North Kingstown's 4x400 meter relay team win the state title.
