South Kingstown's track team fielded many 4x800 teams this season, but none performed better than this foursome, which won the state title in 8 minutes 13.11 seconds, more than three seconds faster than its closest competitor. It was the first Rhode Island team to finish at the New England Championships, clocking a time of 8:24.12, good enough for 12th place. Earlier in the season, South Kingstown's 4x800 meter relay team finished first at the Class B Championships.
