Springer showed a lot of versatility this season, dominating the 1,000, 1,500 and 3,000. He began the year with an impressive victory at the CCRI-Invitational in the 3,000, clocking 9 minutes 12.20 seconds, but then did not compete at the Southern Division Championships. At the Class C Championships, Springer responded with a first-place finish in the 3,000 (8:50.90), and took home the silver medal in the 1,000 (2:41.10). At the state meet, Springer won the 1,000 in 2:35.72 and the 1,500 in 4:02.46. He placed fifth at the New England Championships in the 1-mile run (4:22.33).
