The Field MVP of this year's indoor state championships after winning the weight throw and the shot put, Flowers earned the same distinction at the outdoor state championships after successfully defending her title in the hammer throw (166 feet, 11 inches) and the shot put (43-3.5). She then improved upon her 2006 runner-up finish in the discus, adding more than 4 feet to her throw and winning that event at the state meet this spring as well, with a toss of 123-5. Flowers, who contributed a total of 30 points to Classical's state runner-up finish that day, went on to win the New England Hammer Championships (163-11) and placed second in the shot (43-7) and fourth in the discus (130-2) at the New England Interscholastic Outdoor Track Championships.
