La Salle narrowly edged Classical en route to the program's first girls outdoor state championship, and the Rams did it with the help of their winning 4x400-meter relay. Lauren Cardarelli, who last spring anchored La Salle's runner-up 4x400 relay, once again ran the final leg, this time providing the winning kick for the Rams, who clocked a state-meet record time of 3:58.17. The quartet - which also included Emily Barrett, Alyssa Limperis and Margaret Thorsen - finished fourth at the New England Interscholastic Outdoor Track Championships in Saco, Maine, with a time of 3:58.54.
