Track & Field All-StatesLeigh Petranoff06:00 PM EDT on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 Four years ago, Petranoff quickly rose to the top of the Rhode Island high school – not to mention national - javelin ranks, and she never left. This spring, the senior captured her fourth straight state title in that event with a throw of 144 feet, 1 inch, beating her competition by nearly 16 feet at the Rhode Island Interscholastic State Championships. The 2005 New England champion then placed third at the New England Interscholastic Championships with a toss of 142-06.
