Penso avenged his state title loss at the indoor state meet by winning the outdoor state title with a leap of 6 feet 4 inches. It wasn't his only major meet victory of the season. Penso won the high jump at the Rick Schomp Invitational (6-0), the Northern Division Championship (6-4) and the Class A Championship (5-10). Penso placed third last season at the outdoor state meet.

Favorite moment of the past school year: My favorite track moment was getting in the top three in high jump out of the outdoor track state meet.

What I plan on doing this summer: Take some driving classes, find a job and train hard for track next year. Maybe I'll get to go to Montana with my cousins.
