Gross did just about everything for South Kingstown this season. He was one of the Rebels' best hitters, but after a string of consecutive losses to start the season, he sacrificed his lofty kill totals and became one of South Kingstown's setters. As one of the few bright spots on an underachieving South Kingstown team this season, Gross' versatility shined throughout the year and he was named first-team All-State and first-team All-Division by the Rhode Island Boys Volleyball Coaches Association. He averaged 3 kills per game and 12 kills per match.
