Volleyball All-StatesJosh Baker06:00 PM EDT on Friday, June 20, 2008 Baker's ability to put balls away from the front row and the back row made him one of the most feared hitters in the state. His hitting percentage for 13 matches, including the playoffs, was .480. He accumulated 268 kills. Not only was his hitting strong, he was very solid in the back row on defense. He recorded 95 digs and was a primary passer. Baker commonly played on the right side of the net and was a huge blocker there. Baker's jump serve was a momentum creator in many of Toll Gate's matches, and he was one of the major reasons the Titans went undefeated in the regular season and made it all the way to the state title match. He recorded 23 kills in the state championship match against East Providence.
