JULIE SABRA Providence Country Day, Girls Basketball A New England Prep School Athletic Conference all-star, Sabra closed out her high school career by surpassing the 1,000 career mark. She averaged 20 points per game this season, including a 31-point performance against Lincoln School. MICHAEL CULPO St. Andrews, Boys Basketball A shooting guard on two New England Prep School championship teams in his sophomore and junior seasons, this year the 6-2 senior moved to the point-guard spot and directed the Saints to another successful season. He averaged 17.6 ppg this season, pushing his career total to 1,600 points. He also averaged 5.1 assists per game this season and connected on 51 percent of his shots from the field. MICHAEL ACCAOUI St. Andrew's, Boys Basketball A 5-8 junior guard he became St. Andrew's second all-time leading seasonal three-point shooter as he connected on 109 shots from outside the three-point line this season. He averaged 13.0 points and 3.-2 assists per game this season. He hit 48 percent of his three-point attempts. BRIAN HANUSCHAK St. Andrew's, Boys Basketball Despite playing with a broken foot for the final two weeks of the season, the 6-2 senior forward managed to surpass the 1,000 career point and 1,000 career rebound marks this season. He will play college basketball at Division II St. Rose's next season. ELIZABETH ROUNDS Lincoln School, Girls Swimming The Lynx sophomore mainly swam against independent New England prep school competition, but she also proved she was one of the top female swimmers in Rhode Island as she captured the title in the 100-yard breaststroke at the Bay View Invitational. SEAN ADU-GYAMFI Wheeler, Boys Basketball The Warriors senior point guard was named the top player in the SENE Conference this season. In addition to leading the Warriors in both scoring and assists, he also was an outstanding defensive player. ANTONIO DIAZ-GONZALEZ SALAS St. George's, Boys Squash Diaz-Gonzalez Salas was the top New England Independent League squash player for the second straight year. The ISL Most Valuable Player and the New England Class A champion, he posted a 17-0 record during the regular season, then won eight straight matches en route to the title in the New England Division I tournament. He will play at Connecticut College next season. BRIAN LOWRY St. George's, Boys Basketball A three-sport star, Lowry earned ISL all-star honors in basketball this winter as he averaged 15 points per game. Headed for Skidmore College next year, he finished his career with 1,035 points, only the second player in St. George's history to surpass the 1,000 career mark. JEFF RYAN St. George's, Boys Hockey The Most Valuable Player in New England Division II prep school hockey, the junior forward led St. George's to an 11-1 regular season record. He was the leading scorer in New England Division II with 55 points on 25 goals and 30 assists. COURTNEY JONES St. George's, Girls Squash A junior, Jones has led the St. George's girls squash team to a combined 23-0 record in dual match play over the past two seasons. This season she also led the Dragons to a fifth-place finish at the national high school tournament. A top 15 national ranked 17-and-under player this season, his only dual match loss was to the top-ranked player in New England Independent Schools league. ELIZA FOSTER St. George's, Girls Hockey Foster closed out her sensational career with a first-team ISL selection this season. She was the Dragons' leading scorer for the third straight year, pushing her career total to 85 points. KAIA SIMMONS Moses Brown, Girls Swimming One of the top prep-school swimmers in New England this year, the Quakers junior set a New England Prep School League record for her performance in the 500-yard freestyle with a clocking of 4:56.4 at the NEPSSA Championships. Against Rhode Island competition, she won both the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly at the Bay View Invitational. She posted an undefeated dual-meet record despite swimming against boys in most meets. MARISSA PICCOLI St. Andrew's, Girls Basketball The senior point guard from Providence was named the top female player in the Southeastern New England Conference for the second straight year. A four-time New England Prep School all-star, she finished her high school career with 1,500 points. "Marissa is the quintessential point guard. She scores, she penetrates, she distributes and she defends. She has done it all for four years," said St. Andrew's girls coach Andrew Schirber. TYLER SIENKIEWICZ Providence Country Day, Boys Basketball The junior guard led Providence Country Day to a dramatic turnaround this winter. Sparked by Sienkiewicz's 14-point and 8-rebound averages, the Knights went from a winless season in 2006-07 to 20 victories and a NEPSAC Division D-2 championship this season. An outstanding outside shooter, he connected on a combined total 10 three-point shots in the Knights' three games in the New England prep tournament.
