TOLL GATE TIME: 6:30 p.m. SITE: Curtis Corner Middle School, 301 Curtis Corner Road, Wakefield THE SKINNY: Last year’s Division II state finalists are meeting in the playoffs one game earlier this time. Defending Super Bowl-champion South Kingstown captured the II-B title this fall, while Toll Gate finished third in the division with a 4-3 record. The teams closed out the regular season against each other back on Nov. 7, with the Rebels extending their unbeaten streak to 7-0 thanks to junior QB Ben Hamill’s 7-yard touchdown pass to Ty Stromley in the second quarter. CUMBERLAND VS. TOLMAN TIME: 6 p.m. SITE: Max Read Field THE SKINNY: Boasting the highest-scoring offense in the league (179 points) and finishing the regular season in a crazy five-way tie for first place in II-A with a 5-2 record, Tolman advanced to tonight’s game with a quarterfinal victory over Cranston East. Jordan Johnson’s 78-yard touchdown run in the third quarter gave the Tigers the 7-0 win over the II-B runner-up Thunderbolt two weeks ago. Cumberland, which finished fourth in II-B at 3-4, kept its playoff hopes alive by upsetting West Warwick, 14-6.
