Mary-Kate Eaton scored on an assist from Amy Babcock at 12:55 to give South Kingstown a 1-0 halftime lead. Tiverton’s Lauren Tavares responded with a goal, on an assist fom Sarah Greene, 14:45 into the second half to make it 1-1, in Division I field hockey.

WINNERS’ CIRCLE

The North Kingstown field hockey squad improved to 11-0-2 and remains in first place in Division I after a 5-0 shutout over Cumberland. Tory Dolce and Megan Greene each had two goals and an assist. Cassie Stuart added another goal for the Skippers. NK’s Melissa Barry had seven saves for the shutout. Kelsey Creamer had 10 saves for Cumberland.

SPOTLIGHT

•Erin Crawford, Krystal-Kalene Sleboda, Nicole Colanduono, and Brianna Haberle scored to help the Smithfield field hockey team blank Cranston East, 4-0.

•Tori Pierce and Katie Tolan gave Tiverton two second-half goals and help the Tigers blank Middletown, 2-0, in Division III soccer.
