John Gillooly: It’s time to put competition in competitive cheerleading

A few years ago the Interscholastic League recognized cheerleading as a varsity sport. The only official Interscholastic League competitions for cheerleading, however, take place at the end of the year, a one-day team championship meet and another day for the individual state meet.
