COACH WHO MAKES A DIFFERENCECoach John Johnson12:07 PM PDT on Saturday, May 31, 2008OLYMPIA, Wash. - Football is just a little over three months away. With that, we bring you Capital football coach John Johnson who is trying to bring back the Cougars championship swagger from the late 90's. John Johnson is the Christian Faith Center Coach Who Makes a Difference. He is in his second year and is trying to bring back the glory when the school's team won the 3A State Championships in 1996 and 1998. Johnson comes to Capital by way of Las Vegas where he coached for about 12 years, five of them as head coach at Shadow Ridge High School in Las Vegas. Johnson's team has a big first game at home this fall, playing O'Dea, who they lost to in the playoffs last year at Memorial Stadium. The coach's program focuses on easgin the kids back in the weight room with short sessions. As a result he has more players than ever taking part in spring drills and weight room workouts. It's not all about the wins and losses though. It's also about building character in his players so they are good citizens in the community. Do you know someone we should honor?
