The Blackhawks (17-7), in the state tournament for the 24th time, shot 45 percent (19 of 42), helping offset 23 turnovers and poor foul shooting (16 of 28). DeAngelo Jones had eight points and eight rebounds and Mike Sprenger scored eight as well to help a balanced Cheney attack. Kellen Crawford paced the Mustangs (19-5) with 17 points, 14 rebounds and three steals. Prosser, which won the 2A football title, was hoping to duplicate what Lynden did last year in winning the football and boys basketball titles in the same school year.
