TOP STORIESOthello rolls past Black Hills in first 2A tournament game10:01 PM PST on Wednesday, March 5, 2008TACOMA, Wash. - Courtney Kirkwood scored 17 points and Kyle Mollotte added 16 as Othello beat Black Hills 77-53 on Wednesday in the first round of the Class 2A girls state tournament. The Huskies (23-3) didn't look like first-timers at the 2A tournament. The Huskies raced to a 28-11 lead after one quarter and led by as many as 30 points. Allison Walker added 15 points and freshman Christine Kirkwood 12 for Othello. The Huskies also had a 61-41 rebounding advantage thanks to 14 boards each from Mollotte and Walker. The Wolves (16-8) managed 21 more field-goal attempts than the Huskies but shot just 22 percent (17-for-76). They were just 2 of 17 from 3-point range.
