TOP STORIESBurlington Edison uses hot shooting to roll into 2A semifinals09:43 PM PST on Thursday, March 6, 2008TACOMA, Wash. - Jake Anderson scored 21 points and Kolby Arendse scored 17 to lead Burlington-Edison to a 62-51 quarterfinal win over Cheney in the Class 2A boys state tournament on Thursday. Anderson and Arendse, both seniors, were each 7 of 12 from the field to lead the hot-shooting Tigers (23-2). Burlington-Edison shot 55 percent from the field and hit 13 of 19 shots in the second half to blow open a close game. The Tigers trailed by five after one quarter and led by just two at half. They led by as many as 14 in the fourth quarter. Colin Stewart added 11 points for B-E. The Blackhawks (17-8) shot a respectable 44 percent from the field (20-for-45), but were plagued by 26 turnovers. Griffin Jones led Cheney with 18 points and had a game-high nine rebounds. Brandan Hardie added 13 points and three blocked shots and DeAngelo Jones scored 10 for Cheney.
