The Lancers (24-1) trailed by as many as 11 points midway through the second quarter before rallying to get within 26-23 at halftime. A tip-in by Middleton at the third-quarter buzzer gave Lakes a 40-38 lead heading into the fourth, and it never trailed again. After starting the fourth quarter with the 40-38 lead, the Lancers put it away with a 13-2 scoring run. Their swarming defense didn't allow Columbia River to get off a fourth-quarter shot until just 3:27 remained. The Lancers will meet Seattle Prep (23-5) in a semifinal game on Friday night. Anthony Enriquez added 15 points for Lakes, and Jermaine Kearse chipped in 12. Columbia River, which stunned highly-regarded Mercer Island in a first-round game on Wednesday, 60-42, was led by Sean Daly's 14 points. Steven Bjornstad, the Chieftains' 6-foot-9 junior center who came in averaging 18.4 points per game, was limited to just 11, with nine of those during the first half.
