TOP STORIESBurlington-Edison rolls into title game with win over Port Townsend11:22 PM PST on Friday, March 7, 2008TACOMA, Wash. - Jake Anderson had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead Burlington-Edison over Port Townsend 58-33 in the Class 2A boys state semifinals Friday night. Burlington-Edison (24-2) outscored Port Townsend 18-5 in the fourth quarter to clinch a spot in Saturday's title game against Ephrata. The Tigers led 28-20 at halftime and took control in the second half, outscoring the Redskins 30-13. Port Townsend made only 4 of 15 shots in the second half and missed all five 3-point attempts. Parker McClelland<s 13 points and nine rebounds led Port Townsend (23-2), but the Redskins had 20 turnovers, compared to only seven for Burlington-Edison. Evan Coulter and Colin Stewart added 15 and 13 points, respectively, for Burlington-Edison. The Redskins will face Mark Morris for third place. |
