Defensive ends Sam Acho and Eddie Jones will leave after next season, and this class provided their replacements. Jackson Jeffcoat was ranked as the nation's best defensive end by Rivals.com, and Reggie Wilson, a great speed rusher, isn't far behind.

Texas landed several new targets for quarterback Garrett Gilbert. The Longhorns signed a quartet of big receivers, led by vertical threats Darius White and Mike Davis. Several should crack the rotation and be major factors in 2011.

Coach Mack Brown would have liked to have signed at least one more offensive lineman. Recruits Trey Hopkins and Dominic Espinosa could play as freshmen.

Coach Mack Brown said Case McCoy was "very, very similar" to older brother Colt, a two-time Heisman finalist. ... It is likely McCoy or fellow QB Connor Wood will redshirt this season, Brown said. ... Traylon Shead ran for 10,291 yards, the second highest total in state history, at 1A Cayuga. ... DeMarco Cobbs, recruited as an athlete, could be used at running back.
