AUSTIN — Argyle’s Will Stein advanced to the Class 3A boys singles title match on Monday, cruising past Ryan Beene of West Columbia, 6-0, 6-0, in the quarterfinals and topping Silsbee’s Matthew Deaver, 6-4, 6-1.
Denton’s Hee Won Kim lost his first match of the tournament, 6-1, 6-0, to Grant Adams of Texarkana Texas, ending his season.
Argyle’s Maddie Schorlemmer also suffered defeated, losing 6-1, 6-0, to Abilene Wylie’s Brooke Dennis.
The girls doubles pairing of Andrea Breathard and Lacy Blake of Argyle won its quarterfinals match against Taylor, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 6-3, but lost in the semis to Vernon, 6-3, 6-1.
Ponder’s Colton Ream lost to Hunter Loyd of Tuscola Jim Ned, 6-1, 6-1.
