AUBREY — Before the fourth quarter started on Monday night, each team huddled around its coach as its leader barked instructions to them. Both Aubrey’s Johnny Hodge and Argyle’s Steve Schmidt gave their players a simple instruction — take care of the basketball. One team followed the orders. The other missed the memo. Chalk one up for Argyle as the Lady Eagles held off an Aubrey second-half comeback to win 48-41.

A disappointing first half for the Eagles offensive put Argyle (7-5) in a hole it could never dig out of. Despite putting up 139 yards of offense in the opening half, a missed field goal, two fumbles and an interception killed drives on Argyle’s first four possessions.
