1. Hazelwood East

The Spartans came up short in the Suburban North last season but look for East to be the best team in the area in 2007.

2. East St. Louis

The Flyers lost a lot of senior talent from last year but have reloaded and are the team to beat in the Southwestern conference.

3.CBC

The Cadets surprised a lot of teams last season coming in under the radar. This season they won't surprise anyone because of last year’s success.

4. Edwardsville

The Tigers year in and year out are one of the top teams in the area. This year should be no different.

5. Althoff

The Crusaders will go as far as Jason Ford's legs will take them.

6. Parkway West

All eyes are on top rated quarterback Blaine Gabbert as he tries to carry the Longhorns to a state championship.

7. Kirkwood

The Pioneers won with defense last year and it took them to the state championship game. Look for the same this season.

8. Francis Howell Central

This is the team to beat in the G.A.C. this season.

9. SLUH

Ronnie Wingo might be the fastest player in the area. The Jr. Bills were young last year and will battle CBC and DeSmet for the MCC title.

10. Jennings

This is my sleeper team this year. A lot of young talent has now developed into seniors and they will be a very formidable team.
