Scores/SchedulesEdwardsville keeps rolling with big win in Centralia01:15 PM CDT on Monday, September 24, 2007The Edwardsville Tigers boys golf team captured its first ever win in the Centralia Invitational this weekend.
This event is two man best ball event where each team brings three two man teams to count for their respective team scores.
Each player plays their own ball and the individual low score for the hole counts for the team. Of the Edwardsville players only one, Chris Brant, had ever seen the narrow and hazardous Tom Wargo course before.
This is the second time this season that the Tigers have won a long standing tournament for the first time. Early in the season they won the Quincy Invitational by eight shots.
Seniors Chris Brant and Tyler Kane finished one shot behind the leaders to tie for second place with a 66. Sophomores Sean Supple and Devlin Keenoy finished in third with a 67 and the team of Matt Masterson and Alex Flaugher rounded out the scoring with a 71 for a team total of 204.
Second place was taken by 2A power Centralia at 207 and Salem finished third with a 215.
