(AP) -- Running back Paul Hornstra scored two touchdowns to lead Immaculate Conception past Casey Westfield, 36-17, in the Class 2A championship Friday at Memorial Stadium. Immaculate Conception (10-4) became the first team to win a state football championship after losing four games in a season. The Knights barely qualified for the playoffs and picked up a 15th-seed, but they rolled through their five postseason opponents by a combined score of 214-67. Hornstra had 25 carries for 138 yards. Junior Carlos Rodriguez added 80 yards on 11 carries. With 4:45 left in the third quarter, junior kicker Olivia Vatch became the first female to score in a state title game when she kicked an extra point to help give the eventual champions a 30-3 lead.
