COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- Nathan Scheer scored 17 points and St. Francis Borgia was never challenged in a 59-41 victory over Kearney in the boys' Class 4A state championship game on Saturday.
Borgia (28-3) shot 51 percent from the floor and scored 18 points off 17 Kearney turnovers to win its second state title in three years and fifth overall -- all under coach Dave Neier. The Knights opened the game with 3-pointers by Scheer and Eric Kimminau and were 6-for-16 from beyond the arc to build a 13-point halftime lead to cruise to the victory.

Scheer, a junior, hit three 3-pointers in the first half and finished 4-for-6 beyond the arc. Sean Duff was the only other Borgia player in double figures with 10.
Dillon Stazl led Kearney (21-10) with 14 points and eight rebounds.
