COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- Bethanie Funderburk had 22 points and seven rebounds, helping Nixa pull away down the stretch to beat Blue Springs 56-39 in the Class 5A girls state championship Saturday night.

Nixa (29-2) had 18 turnovers, but shot 5-of-11 from 3-point range to win the school's second girls state title. The Lady Eagles allowed Blue Springs (28-3) to stay within 10 for most of the game, finally pulling away in the fourth quarter when Funderburk scored eight straight points to put Nixa up 43-40.

CeeCee Burris had 11 points and Mackenzie Sykes added 11 for Blue Springs, which shot just 26 percent, including 1-for-13 from beyond the arc.
