(AP) -- Morgan Johnson had 24 points and set a state tournament record with 26 rebounds to help Platte County hold off Webb City 81-72 in the Class 4A girls championship game on Saturday. Kelsey Knox added 26 points and was 18-of-21 from the free throw line to help Platte County (28-2) win its first girls state championship. Johnson set the rebounding record after tying the state mark of 41 points and blocking nine shots -- another record -- in the Pirates' semifinal victory over Miller Career Academy. Webb City (26-5) trailed by just two at halftime after Sharenda Campbell hit a halfcourt shot at the buzzer and was within seven with just over two minutes left in the game before the Platte County pulled away.
